About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support pharmacy operations and service excellence within the store
- Serve as a first point of contact for patients and customers
- Follow SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pickup, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
- Provide empathetic, personalized patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
- Offer immunizations and other patient health care services where legally permitted and properly trained
- Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
- Expand clinical and technical knowledge and respond to feedback
- Work flexibly across the home store and other market stores as business needs require
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
- Complete additional immunizer licensing and training where permitted
- Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report events
- Review and document patient information
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification requirements
- If no state-mandated minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
- If no state-mandated minimum educational requirement applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
- Must satisfy applicable state-level licensure and national certification requirements
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
- Ability to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between tasks
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
- Customer service, team orientation, verbal and written communication, and active listening skills
- Mathematical reasoning for prescription quantities and supplies
- Problem-resolution skills
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, reach, stoop, and maintain close visual acuity
- Ability to receive and convey detailed oral instructions
