About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence
  • Serve as a first point of contact for patients and customers
  • Follow SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures across production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off
  • Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately
  • Provide empathetic and personalized patient service and resolve or escalate patient problems
  • Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone where permitted
  • Complete inventory activities including medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting-bin inventories
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team and contribute to a safe, inclusive, high-performing team
  • Travel voluntarily to other stores in the market for shifts as needed
  • Comply with laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS policies
  • Deliver additional health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinics where permitted and properly trained
  • Support vaccine preparation and administration when authorized, including patient education, adverse-reaction monitoring, documentation, and vaccine-supply management
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by a Supervisor or Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must comply with applicable state board of pharmacy requirements and laws governing age, education, and licensure/certification
  • If no state minimum age applies, must be at least 16 years old
  • If no state minimum education applies, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • Must complete required training within the designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Ability to use mathematics for prescription fulfillment
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to perform required physical duties, including standing, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger movements, bending, and close visual work
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs
  • 1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (preferred)
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations (preferred)
  • Must satisfy applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements
