About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through comprehensive testing and validation activities
Partner with business analysts, developers, and technical teams to understand requirements
Develop test strategies
Execute test plans
Identify, track, and manage defects
Support successful product releases
Create reusable automation frameworks
Derive test automation scripts through JIRA stories
Perform functional, regression, integration, and UI testing through automation test suites
Validate data using SQL queries
Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Perform impact analysis and assess regression testing needs for application changes
Validate UI/UX workflows and provide recommendations for usability improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation
Experience within the Medicare or Health Insurance industry, including claims, member benefits, payer, or provider systems
Strong understanding of Quality Assurance methodologies, testing best practices, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Hands-on experience with test automation, test planning, test case development, and test execution
Experience with defect identification, tracking, and management
Experience with functional, regression, integration, and user interface (UI) testing through automation test suites
Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Power Automate or similar technologies
Experience creating and managing test cases aligned to user stories in Agile/Scrum environments
Experience using Agile test management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
Ability to derive test automation scripts through JIRA stories
Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation and testing
Familiarity with EDI files and healthcare transaction sets
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and complete assignments with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred: Ability to read and understand application code and stored procedures to assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Preferred: Experience performing impact analysis and assessing regression testing needs for application changes
Preferred: Experience validating UI/UX workflows and providing recommendations for usability improvements
