About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative digital solutions for member experiences
- Architect and build cloud-native, microservices-based applications
- Apply event-driven architecture, modern technology stacks, and emerging AI technologies
- Collaborate with Digital, Data and Analytics, and Platform Engineering teams
- Contribute to technical direction and shape digital engineering initiatives
- Mentor peers and partner with architects and product teams
- Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
- Own the full software lifecycle from design through deployment and operations
- Conduct testing, code reviews, and database optimization
- Build and deploy RESTful APIs and cloud-based solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of software engineering experience focused on enterprise-level digital solutions
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
- Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming and server-side application development
- 2+ years of experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions, with preference for AWS
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable, maintainable microservices-based applications
- Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and code review practices
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and MongoDB, including data modeling and query optimization
- Experience with event-driven services and architectures, message brokers, and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
- Experience building RESTful APIs, middleware, and routing using frameworks such as Express
- Proficient understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including cloud-native database services
- Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and practical software development applications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience
- Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; serverless architectures; open-source frameworks; modern development tooling; Agile methodologies; cross-functional teamwork; problem-solving; analytical skills; verbal and written communication skills
