Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative digital solutions powering member experiences
Architect and build cloud-native, microservices-based applications
Apply event-driven architecture, modern technology stacks, and emerging AI technologies
Collaborate with Digital, Data and Analytics, and Platform Engineering teams
Contribute to technical direction and shape digital engineering initiatives
Mentor peers and partner with architects and product teams
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions
Own the full software lifecycle from design through deployment and operations
Drive innovation and solve complex engineering challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience focused on enterprise-level digital solutions
3+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript
Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming and server-side application development
2+ years of experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions, with preference for AWS
Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and maintainable microservices-based applications
Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and code review practices
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch, and MongoDB, including data modeling and query optimization
Experience with event-driven services and architectures, message brokers, and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka
Experience building RESTful APIs, including middleware implementation and routing with frameworks such as Express
Proficient understanding of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including cloud-native database services
Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and practical software-development applications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Alternatively, high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant work experience
Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Preferred: serverless architectures and cloud-native design patterns
Preferred: open-source frameworks and modern development tooling
Preferred: Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
Preferred: cross-functional teamwork, problem-solving, analytical, verbal communication, and written communication skills
