About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build software powering clinical care delivery at Oak Street Health, including patient scheduling, care coordination, clinical records, and health-network integrations
Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks
Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to understand and automate workflows
Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks
Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts
Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and production health of owned services

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years building distributed backend systems in production
Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks
Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores
Track record of leading technical work across a team
Experience with cloud-native deployment using Azure, AWS, or GCP
Experience building ETL/ELT workflows using Databricks preferred
Deep familiarity with domain-driven design and bounded context modeling preferred
Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7) or EMR integrations preferred
Background in high-throughput, low-latency service design at scale preferred
Experience with event sourcing, CQRS, or other advanced event-driven patterns preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred, specialized training, or relevant professional qualification
