About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage and enhance key metric reporting, including P&L results, route, mileage, cost per mile, miles per route, product cube per route, pallets per route, fuel consumption, and planning metrics
Monitor monthly EIA changes in fuel prices against budgeted and forecasted fuel rates
Calculate cost impacts of realignments, overrides, and changes in shipment plans
Analyze, develop, and maintain data queries linked to metric and financial reporting
Support Transportation with analyses for RFPs and union negotiations
Analyze transportation metrics to identify, communicate, and solve opportunities
Provide weekly projections and monthly and quarterly P&L reporting for leadership and distribution centers
Develop annual budget planning and forecast models
Partner with dedicated and private fleet teams to develop bottoms-up budgets and incorporate initiatives and layers
Identify and model budget shifts and variance explanations versus previous forecasts
Support Transportation partners as a member of the Network Planning team
Work with Transportation and Finance teams on yearly budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly projections, and close processes
Support labor and other forecasting processes as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

2+ years of analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving experience
2+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
2+ years of experience constructing complex models to analyze financial and metric data
2+ years of experience working with large databases, SQL, or other query tools
2+ years of experience with data visualization tools and report development
2+ years of relevant experience in finance, supply chain, or distribution
SAP experience preferred
Power BI, ThoughtSpot, or Tableau data visualization experience preferred
SQL, Snowflake, and data mining experience preferred
Experience building and maintaining complex financial models preferred
Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent work experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills across various audiences
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and contribute in a team setting
