About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Act as the primary technical authority for NOC operations and infrastructure engineering
Define architecture standards, operational best practices, and automation strategies
Drive adoption of SRE principles, including reliability engineering, error budgets, and capacity planning
Lead technical decision-making and design reviews across infrastructure and operations
Architect, design, and implement Terraform-based infrastructure
Lead automation initiatives and develop reusable modules, pipelines, and frameworks
Promote CI/CD practices for infrastructure and operational workflows
Own and optimize AWS compute, networking, storage, and security environments
Ensure cloud cost efficiency, high availability, scalability, governance, security, and compliance
Oversee networking infrastructure including routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls
Lead management of VOIP systems, SIP trunks, PSTN, and GSM gateways
Troubleshoot complex telecommunication and network issues across distributed systems
Define monitoring and observability strategy using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog
Lead P1/P2 major incident response and act as Incident Commander when required
Drive proactive issue detection, alert tuning, noise reduction, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
Ensure adherence to ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes
Review and approve high-risk changes and deployments
Improve operational playbooks and standard operating procedures
Implement AI/ML-driven solutions for predictive monitoring and automation
Drive initiatives to improve operational maturity and reduce MTTR
Provide leadership-level reporting on system health, incidents, SLAs, and KPIs
Build dashboards and insights using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Support, and other cross-functional teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS, and infrastructure automation
Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, and related networking protocols
Expertise in VOIP, SIP, PSTN, and GSM gateway systems
Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar monitoring/observability tools
Working knowledge of AI/ML use cases in operations (AIOps)
Familiarity with ServiceNow and Jira
Working knowledge of MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and related database technologies
Experience supporting highly available database environments, including backup/recovery validation, replication monitoring, upgrades, failover testing, and incident management
Strong expertise in ITIL Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes
Proven experience leading technical teams and handling escalations
Ability to design and enforce operational standards and governance
Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to lead under pressure during critical incidents
6–10 years in NOC, SRE, or infrastructure roles
Minimum 2–3 years in a technical lead or senior leadership role
Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, ITIL Foundation, CCNA or equivalent, VOIP/SIP certifications, Python/Bash scripting, and AIOps or predictive analytics exposure
