About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a senior technical authority and SME across federal C5I systems
- Provide guidance to engineering teams, PMO, program leadership, and federal stakeholders
- Design and integrate enterprise SD-WAN, identity and access services, and secure network architectures aligned to DoDIN
- Review and validate HLDs, LLDs, implementation plans, and engineering change proposals
- Lead or support validation in federal C5I and CyKor SD-WAN/integration labs
- Define acceptance criteria, performance metrics, failure scenarios, and resiliency scenarios
- Support deployment across cutter environments, shore units, and enterprise gateways
- Troubleshoot network performance issues involving SATCOM, terrestrial, and emerging transport options
- Provide rapid technical resolution for mission-impacting issues
- Ensure alignment with RMF requirements, DISA STIGs, and federal C5I security policies
- Support ATO development and sustainment, vulnerability remediation, and audit readiness
- Develop automation playbooks, network monitoring, and reporting tools
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual configuration and improve operational visibility
- Interface with federal C5I stakeholders, prime contractor PMO, and delivery leadership
- Provide technical input during PMO syncs, engineering review boards, and executive briefings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering/architecture in DoD, DHS, or federal environments
- Demonstrated expertise in federal C5I systems or similar DoD architectures
- Enterprise network design and operations experience
- Deep expertise in routing and switching, including BGP and OSPF
- Experience with WAN technologies and transport resilience
- Hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco ISE, routing platforms, and firewalls such as FTD or equivalent
- Experience with Ansible, Python, lab-based validation and testing, and operational troubleshooting
- Active Secret clearance
- CompTIA Security+ certification required; DoD 8570/8140 compliant
- Preferred: Cisco CCNP or CCIE, CISSP, and Red Hat/automation certifications
- Familiarity with PKI integration and Zero Trust Architecture
- Experience working within integration labs and large-scale enterprise deployments
- Ability to travel to federal locations and participate in mission-critical troubleshooting and deployment windows
