About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Integrate and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN components
- Execute deployment plans across cutter environments, shore-based units, and enterprise gateways
- Ensure seamless integration with existing federal C5I systems
- Implement and support Cisco SD-WAN using vManage, vSmart, cEdge, and vEdge
- Configure policy-based routing, application-aware routing, and secure segmentation
- Support transition from legacy WAN to SD-WAN architectures
- Build and configure systems in CyKor’s SD-WAN lab and federal C5I integration environments
- Execute test plans, validation procedures, and acceptance criteria
- Identify and resolve integration issues before field deployment
- Support on-site installations and cutovers, including rack/stack, configuration, and activation
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues, failover behavior, latency, packet loss, and performance degradation
- Ensure compliance with RMF requirements, DISA STIGs, and federal C5I security policies
- Perform secure configuration baselining, patching, and vulnerability remediation
- Support automation using Ansible and Python scripting
- Develop configuration templates and repeatable deployment processes
- Maintain configuration documentation, integration procedures, and as-built diagrams
- Provide updates to the PMO, engineering leadership, and field deployment teams
- Collaborate with Network Architects, C5I stakeholders, PMO, and field teams
- Support engineering review boards and change control processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10+ years of experience in network engineering and integration
- Experience in DoD, DHS, or other federal environments
- Proven experience with enterprise network deployments and integration of multi-vendor solutions
- Strong expertise in routing & switching (BGP, OSPF), WAN technologies and network transport
- Hands-on experience with Cisco SD-WAN, Cisco routing/switching platforms, and firewalls (Cisco FTD or equivalent)
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools, automation (Ansible, Python), and lab-based integration and validation
- An active Secret clearance or higher
- CompTIA Security+ certification, minimum; DoD 8570/8140 compliant
- Preferred: Cisco CCNP (Enterprise or Security)
- CCIE highly desired
- Red Hat/automation certifications preferred
- Familiarity with SATCOM/constrained bandwidth environments, Cisco ISE, and identity-based networking
- Experience with large-scale phased deployments (multi-site rollouts)
