About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all functions of the job site as they relate to home construction while providing excellent customer service
- Manage construction of multiple homes from permit to closing
- Schedule and supervise job site subcontractors, homeowner walk-throughs, and inspections
- Manage construction schedules and ensure quality products are delivered on time and within budget
- Schedule subcontractors for each construction phase and evaluate work quality and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with local, state and federal building codes and company workmanship standards
- Complete home sites from planning through occupancy and satisfy contract obligations
- Inspect subcontractor workmanship and product quality; halt unsatisfactory or noncompliant work
- Authorize subcontractor payments after standards and inspections are completed
- Manage the customer experience throughout construction
- Conduct daily home inspections, homeowner orientations and walks, and provide progress communications
- Monitor community cleanliness and keep the community and worksite orderly and visually appealing
- Manage post-close warranty processes, assess requests, schedule subcontractors, and manage quality assurance
- Follow up with homeowners to resolve concerns professionally and promptly
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable building codes
- Collaborate with sales, customer warranty, and management teams to resolve issues and deliver quality products
- Conduct business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit
- Work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to four years related experience
- Ability to manage and complete the “13 Milestones of Construction” specified in JDE
- Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies, valid driver’s license and be willing to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and knowledge of all phases of new homes construction
- General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes
- Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel
- Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
- Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via DRH Construction applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places and risk of electrical shock
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
- Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and high production environment
