About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all functions of the job site as they relate to home construction while providing excellent customer service
- Manage construction of multiple homes from permit to closing
- Schedule and supervise job site subcontractors, homeowner walk-throughs, and inspections
- Manage construction schedules and ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and within budget
- Schedule subcontractors for each construction phase and evaluate their work for compliance with building codes and company standards
- Complete each home site on schedule from planning through occupancy and satisfy contract obligations
- Inspect subcontractor workmanship and product quality; halt unsatisfactory or noncompliant work
- Authorize subcontractor payments after standards are met and work and materials are inspected
- Manage the customer experience throughout construction
- Conduct daily inspections and enforce quality standards
- Conduct homeowner orientations and walks, communicate progress, and address concerns
- Monitor community cleanliness and maintain an orderly, visually appealing worksite
- Manage post-close warranty processes, including assessing requests, scheduling subcontractors, and managing quality assurance
- Follow up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed promptly and professionally
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable building codes
- Collaborate with sales, customer warranty, and management teams to resolve issues and support quality delivery
- Conduct business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit
- Work additional hours as necessary to meet business needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Two to four years related experience
- Ability to manage and complete the “13 Milestones of Construction” specified in JDE
- Must have a vehicle capable of carrying supplies
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to drive among designated communities in daytime and nighttime
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Knowledge of all phases of new homes construction
- General knowledge of municipal permitting, regulations and building codes
- Ability to converse with customers, all levels of management and personnel
- Superb interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction
- Ability to control cost overruns and manage a budget
- Ability to utilize DRH Construction applications on a smart phone, tablet, or laptop
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via DRH Construction applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; climb, balance and stoop, crouch or crawl; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places and risk of electrical shock
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college
