About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and implement analytics solutions using Databricks AI/BI
- Configure and enhance a Genie Space to enable natural-language data queries
- Collaborate with business teams to define metrics, priority questions, and use cases
- Prepare, transform, and model the data used by the solutions
- Create and optimize queries using Databricks SQL
- Configure instructions, context, descriptions, relationships, and query examples for Genie
- Validate the accuracy and consistency of the responses produced by the conversational solution
- Develop dashboards and visualizations in the Databricks AI/BI environment
- Ensure data quality, security, governance, and access control
- Identify and resolve issues related to data, queries, and Genie responses
- Optimize the performance of queries and components used by the solution
- Document the architecture, data sources, metrics, business rules, configurations, and procedures
- Provide knowledge transfer to the teams involved
- Work collaboratively with Data, Analytics, Technology, and business teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid experience working at a senior level with Databricks
- Hands-on experience with Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, and Lakehouse architecture
- Knowledge of Unity Catalog, governance, and access control
- Strong command of SQL for query development and optimization
- Experience with Python and/or PySpark for data preparation and transformation
- Knowledge of data modeling for analytics solutions
- Experience building pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and propose solutions
- Experience working with business teams to understand metrics and requirements
- Strong communication skills, autonomy, and the ability to work on a project with defined deliverables
- Databricks certifications related to Data Engineering, Analytics, or AI (a plus)
- Experience in consulting projects and direct client engagement (a plus)
