About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
  • Maintain commercial HVAC equipment, including cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts, and lubrication
  • Repair and replace defective equipment, components, and wiring for fan coils, chillers, heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns and callbacks
  • Analyze chiller trend data to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform warranty service by inspecting and testing systems
  • Lead commercial HVAC equipment rebuilds and retrofits
  • Direct Level I and II technicians through hands-on demonstrations and introduce centrifugal rebuilds
  • Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other required information
  • Provide customers with service status reports before, during, and after calls
  • Explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Participate in regional, off-site, and Daikin Learning training
  • Maintain required certifications and develop new skill sets
  • Uphold safety policies, procedures, and a clean work area
  • Follow OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures
  • Travel, including some overnight travel, as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years related experience with increasing responsibility; or 7+ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
  • Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
  • EPA approved Universal Technician Certification required, as necessary
  • Commercial HVAC Industry Experience preferred
  • Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians preferred
  • OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire; Daikin provides this training during onboarding
  • Current first aid / CPR card preferred
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law
