About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as national technical lead for Daikin Applied VRV/VRF systems
- Provide advanced support for product applications, system design, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Provide technical guidance to service teams, sales representatives, customers, contractors, engineers, and service organizations
- Manage and prioritize technical support requests via phone, email, and other channels
- Document technical inquiries, recommendations, resolutions, and case activity in Salesforce CRM
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex product and system issues
- Coordinate escalations and corrective actions with internal teams
- Communicate technical findings, application considerations, field conditions, and system performance concerns to stakeholders
- Develop and deliver VRV/VRF technical training in classroom, virtual, and field environments
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentorship to technical personnel
- Develop and improve technical training content, application resources, service documentation, troubleshooting tools, and knowledge-management resources
- Analyze product, system, component, and field-support data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Lead and support technical projects and strategic initiatives
- Serve as technical liaison between Daikin Applied and Daikin North America
- Build relationships across internal teams, customers, contractors, engineers, and service organizations
- Support product adoption, technical capability, customer retention, and business growth
- Travel to service locations, customer jobsites, training facilities, and other business locations as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate’s Degree or 2-year degree from college or technical school
- 6–8+ years of VRV-related experience and/or training
- Advanced knowledge of commercial Daikin VRV/VRF systems, including applications, system design, controls, operation, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Experience in technical service, applications engineering, technical training, or product support involving commercial VRV/VRF systems
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex system performance issues, determine root causes, and develop practical technical solutions
- Strong understanding of VRV/VRF application and design principles, including equipment selection, piping, controls, installation requirements, and system commissioning
- Ability to interpret technical data, operating conditions, customer requirements, and field information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop and deliver technical instruction in classroom, virtual, and field environments
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple technical priorities, document using write smart practices, and respond to changing needs
- Understanding of Daikin Applied business operations, customer support processes, and market objectives, or ability to develop that knowledge quickly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Work visa sponsorship is not available
- Must follow applicable safety requirements and use required personal protective equipment at field locations
