About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and validate vehicle cybersecurity requirements
- Institutionalize the cybersecurity organization and identify skill matrices and training needs for the core team
- Manage FOTA requirements for vehicle ECUs through the telematics controller and central gateway
- Coordinate and finalize requirements and standards for DICV vehicle cybersecurity and OTA
- Implement cybersecurity at telematics-component and vehicle levels with full documentation for AIS 189 and AIS 190 compliance
- Identify attack paths; conduct TARA, risk assessment scoring, penetration testing, and validation activities independently or with stakeholders
- Implement end-to-end CSMS and SUMS processes according to Daimler internal requirements
- Conceive, identify, and pilot new methods, tools, and processes for technology and product development through benchmarking and evaluation
- Facilitate ideation workshops to build cybersecurity competencies
- Develop PoCs/PoVs, whitepapers, and business case documents for new verticals
- Assist with Board/OpCom presentation documents for relevant approvals
- Assist in evaluating proposals and technologies and creating product roadmaps aligned with business vision and strategy
Requirements
What you’ll need- BE/ME with up to 8 years of experience and knowledge of cybersecurity
- Knowledge of the automotive market and industry-wide best practices
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or specific automotive cybersecurity certifications like ISO/SAE 21434
- Strong understanding of automotive cybersecurity requirements
- Entrepreneurial thinking and ability to work with varying levels of ambiguity and uncertainty
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; proven ability to think strategically
- Ability to manage key internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence and ability to work with senior stakeholders
- Proactive approach and comfort with ambiguity
- Basic experience in technology development, product development, leadership, and project sponsor outreach
- Strong experience securing telematics systems and OTA updates
- Strong experience in TARA for automotive systems
- Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434, SAE J3061, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and MISRA
- Understanding of CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, MQTT, TCP/IP, and telemetry protocols
- Strong experience with UDS diagnostics protocols
- Knowledge of network security principles, secure communication protocols, encryption, and key management
- Experience with system-level debugging and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in embedded systems security
- Knowledge of hardware security mechanisms, secure boot, and trusted execution environments
- Experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment of automotive systems
- Understanding of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and LTE used in vehicles
- Knowledge of IoT architectures and protocols, including automotive gateway-to-cloud solutions
- Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and compliance requirements
