About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design transmission components including housings, gears, and shafts
Design components according to functional, durability, packaging, and manufacturing requirements
Develop prototype parts with suppliers for testing
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop axle components
Solve complex-scope problems using standard concepts and principles

Requirements

What you’ll need

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive OEM or Tier 1
Expertise in designing complex housings based on functional, durability, and manufacturing requirements, including HPDC, LPDC, and sand castings
Knowledge of transmission components including gears, shafts, castings, forgings, and sheet metal components
Knowledge of transmission performance and durability calculations
Experience designing plastic/steel tubes and support brackets
Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and drawing specifications
Strong Siemens NX design skills required
Minimum 2 years of Siemens NX experience, including Solid Modelling, Sheet Metal, Tubing/Mechanical Routing, Drafting, and CAE-Structural modules
Knowledge of NX CAE simulation for structural, system, and component analysis
Experience with Siemens Teamcenter or similar PLM tools
Fluent spoken and written English
Experience independently handling transmission component design, preferably with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier
Knowledge of QMS requirements and manufacturing limitations
Technical expertise in component design and field failure management
Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize tasks, prepare minutes of meetings, and present in group meetings
