About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development, implementation, scaling, and continuous improvement of Dallas College Transfer ASAP
  • Oversee integrated, high-touch student support services including academic advising, transfer planning, career development, tutoring, financial support administration, and student engagement
  • Supervise and support Transfer ASAP staff through coaching, performance management, professional development, and operational leadership
  • Recruit, enroll, retain, and support full-time, Pell-eligible Dallas County students
  • Implement proactive, case-managed advising supporting persistence, full-time enrollment, transfer readiness, and timely completion
  • Collaborate with college leaders and university partners on transfer pathways, programming, transition supports, and priority access initiatives
  • Coordinate program metrics, student outcomes, engagement indicators, and operational assessments
  • Oversee four-year grant administration, budget management, compliance monitoring, reporting, data collection, milestones, and stakeholder communications
  • Develop processes for scholarships, stipends, and other student support resource distribution
  • Establish partnerships with Outreach and Recruitment, Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Career Services, Transfer Services, Success Coaching, Academic Affairs, Institutional Research, and other departments
  • Lead interventions and academic support strategies for students facing academic, financial, or personal barriers
  • Monitor service delivery, outreach, case documentation, and compliance
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and program updates for leadership, grant stakeholders, and external partners
  • Participate in committees and cross-functional workgroups supporting transfer, retention, persistence, and student success
  • Exercise authority over staff recruitment, selection, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development, termination, and performance management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field plus two years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education student success, transfer services, retention, advising, or academic affairs OR bachelor’s degree plus five years of such leadership experience
  • Knowledge of community colleges and Dallas College’s vision
  • Knowledge of Guided Pathways, transfer advising, retention strategies, career development, and holistic student support
  • Understanding of the CUNY ASAP framework or similar high-touch student persistence and completion models
  • Understanding of transfer student success frameworks, transfer pathway development, and university partnership collaboration
  • Experience implementing proactive, high-touch, case-managed student success interventions and supporting academically and economically disadvantaged student populations
  • Experience using data and technology for strategic planning, student outreach, operational improvement, and student success interventions
  • Ability to evaluate student outcomes and use data for continuous improvement
  • Ability to supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate professional staff and student support teams
  • Strong project management, organizational, problem-solving, and operational leadership skills
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across academic affairs, student affairs, institutional leadership, and external partner organizations
  • Ability to support organizational change and implement new initiatives in higher education
  • Understanding of budget preparation and management
  • Criminal background check required; some positions may require a fingerprint check
  • Required professional development hours: 19 annually; people leaders require an additional 16 leadership-development hours
