About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct research in AI- and data-driven weather modelling within a power trading context
- Develop and improve fundamental forecasting solutions translating weather signals into actionable power market insights
- Perform ad hoc weather and market analyses supporting trading, renewable asset balancing and commercial decision-making
- Explore new data sources, modelling approaches and analytical methods
- Turn research and analysis into robust, scalable solutions for traders and algorithms
- Develop weather-driven insights, forecasts and models supporting trading decisions and renewable asset optimisation
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation
- Take ownership of quantitative modelling and research projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Educational background in Economics, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science or a related quantitative field
- Experience writing production-quality, maintainable code in Python
- Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using common command-line tools
- Solid quantitative foundation
- Ability to work with statistical, mathematical or data-driven modelling
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets
- Ability to transform data-driven insights into practical solutions
- Curiosity about the power trading domain
- Execution and collaborative mindset
- Prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required
