About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with FIG leadership and cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor the practice’s business plan and strategic initiatives
  • Develop strategies for executing group goals; track and report progress; ensure accountability for action items and deadlines
  • Coordinate with Finance & Accounting and Business Development on financial performance, market research, and practice strategy and growth
  • Manage special projects and strategic initiatives for practice leadership
  • Assist with communications and planning involving Firm leadership
  • Organize and support partner and practice group meetings, including agendas, materials, and follow-up
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare reports, and recommend actions to optimize performance and address operational needs
  • Monitor activity levels and utilization with Professional Development
  • Lead internal communications, including announcements, intranet updates, and presentations
  • Liaise between FIG and other firm departments
  • Identify and pursue client opportunities; support pitches, RFPs, and marketing materials
  • Coordinate client coverage activities and relationship management tracking
  • Support client events, external presentations, and visibility-building initiatives
  • Coordinate entry-level and lateral hiring needs with Legal Recruiting
  • Support onboarding, integration, and check-ins for attorneys
  • Oversee practice templates, databases, knowledge resources, and technology, including AI tools and use cases
  • Develop practice-specific training programs with KM&I and Professional Development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • JD or MBA preferred
  • 7+ years experience in a law firm or other professional services firm
  • Practice management experience preferred
  • Highly motivated, responsive and conscientious
  • Detail-oriented, organized and driven
  • Ability to establish rapport and build relationships and credibility with internal stakeholders at every level of the organization
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environment
  • Ability to propose creative solutions to challenging problems
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to maintain utmost discretion of confidential information
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Availability during standard office hours and ability to respond promptly outside standard office hours and on weekends
  • Familiarity with Excel and comfort creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations
