About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively identify, originate, and build a pipeline of healthcare acquisition opportunities, including independent dialysis clinics, physician practice assets, and joint ventures
  • Lead transactions through outreach, preliminary financial analysis, due diligence, LOI negotiation, deal structuring, and definitive agreements
  • Anticipate and resolve physician, regulatory, valuation, and other deal roadblocks
  • Develop and execute multi-year growth plans for assigned divisions and markets
  • Conduct market scans, whitespace assessments, and physician supply/demand analyses
  • Monitor competitor activity, market consolidation, and provider affiliations
  • Cultivate relationships with independent nephrology groups, health system leaders, and practice decision-makers
  • Source and structure physician alignment models, including Medical Director Agreements, Joint Ventures, and Value-Based Care arrangements
  • Tailor strategic messaging and business rationale to clinical leaders
  • Collaborate with Division Vice Presidents, Regional Operations Directors, Field Strategy, and Finance partners
  • Coach operational peers on physician engagement and growth dynamics
  • Lead through influence across clinical, legal, regulatory, and finance functions
  • Champion DaVita’s core values and high-performing culture
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, partner selection criteria, and regulatory mandates
  • Identify growth friction points, develop solutions, and contribute to national Pegasus initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MHA, or equivalent master’s degree strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare business development, corporate development/M&A, healthcare management consulting, physician practice management, or healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated success originating, evaluating, negotiating, and closing healthcare transactions, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships
  • Strong commercial and financial competence, including experience analyzing pro formas, deal models, and P&L dynamics
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build credibility with C-suite executives, physician leaders, and internal executive partners
  • High degree of self-direction, resourcefulness, and resilience in navigating long-cycle, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Willingness to travel 30%–50% within an assigned multi-state territory
  • Ability to work in the assigned territory
