About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide nursing care to patients in an outpatient dialysis center
  • Build long-term relationships with patients and their families
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team with technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, physicians, and the center manager
  • Oversee a group of patients with support from PCTs
  • Conduct patient observations, measure patient statistics, and perform machine setup
  • Deliver specialized, complex care for patients with co-morbidities and unique treatment plans
  • Commit to clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives
  • Float between various clinics from Lehi to Price, Utah, during and after training
  • Complete paid classroom and hands-on dialysis training
  • Work 3–4 shifts per week, typically 10–12 hours per shift, Monday–Saturday; some holidays are required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Current CHARGE NURSE experience
  • Minimum of 9 months RN experience post-graduation
  • Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance in state of residence
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) or three-year diploma from an accredited diploma program may be substituted
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Dialysis nursing experience is stated as required in the title and opening, though the posting later says no dialysis experience is required to start
  • Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Emergency Room (ER), or Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience is a nice-to-have
  • Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) or Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) is a nice-to-have
  • Previous Chronic Hemodialysis, Acute Dialysis and/or Home Hemodialysis (HHD) nursing experience is a nice-to-have
  • Training/Teaching/Healthcare Education background is a nice-to-have
