About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide education and guidance to DaVita patients about health insurance and implications of different insurance options
Help patients make informed employment and insurance decisions
Conduct patient insurance education within established compliance parameters
Identify and communicate opportunities to improve patients’ insurance status and reduce financial risk
Help patients find or secure insurance coverage and financial assistance programs
Provide customer service across multiple DaVita Dialysis facilities
Complete insurance assessments and evaluations to document patient education sessions
Liaise between patients, facility teammates, billing office, and corporate office to resolve insurance issues
Build relationships with field partners to ensure seamless patient support
Work with the supervisor/manager on objectives, deadlines, and reporting requirements
Provide monthly reporting and analysis on patient education and advocacy metrics
Participate in monthly operations reviews
Identify process improvement opportunities
Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and trainings
Assist with onboarding and training new teammates as needed
Travel to DaVita clinics in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; in-person patient support may be up to 3–4 times per week, with work from home on other days

Requirements

What you’ll need

Full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medical/religious exemption is required
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Candidate must reside in the DFW, or the surrounding area
Valid driver’s license within the state you are applying, with an acceptable driving record
Ability to squat and walk and stand for more than 15 minutes
Must be okay with the sight of blood
Basic computer skills
High speed internet (minimum of 40 GB)
Private workspace
Secure transportation to DaVita facilities
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
Minimum of two (2) years' experience working with Medicare and Medicaid insurance as well as commercial insurance plans and benefits (PPO, HMO, POS, EPO, Indemnity) strongly preferred
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients preferred
Bilingual/Spanish Speaking strongly preferred
