About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide education and guidance to DaVita patients about health insurance and implications of different insurance options
- Help patients make informed employment and insurance decisions
- Conduct patient insurance education within established compliance parameters
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve patients’ insurance status and reduce financial risk
- Help patients find or secure insurance coverage and financial assistance programs
- Provide customer service across multiple DaVita Dialysis facilities
- Complete insurance assessments and evaluations and document patient education sessions
- Liaise between patients, facility teammates, billing office, and corporate office to resolve insurance issues
- Build and maintain relationships with field partners to ensure seamless patient support
- Work with supervisor/manager to meet objectives, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Provide monthly reporting and analysis on patient education and advocacy metrics
- Participate in monthly operations reviews
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and trainings
- Assist with onboarding and training new teammates as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Full vaccination against COVID-19 or a medical/religious exemption is required
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Must reside in West Palm Beach or Daytona/Jacksonville
- Must be able to travel to DaVita clinics in Daytona/Jacksonville or West Palm Beach and surrounding areas
- Travel and in-person patient support may be up to 3–4 times per week
- Must be able to squat, walk, and stand for more than 15 minutes
- Must be okay with the sight of blood
- Valid driver’s license within the state of application is required, with an acceptable driving record
- Basic computer skills
- High-speed internet (minimum of 40 GB)
- Private workspace
- Secure transportation to DaVita facilities
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Minimum of two years’ experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans and benefits strongly preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare organization working with clinical staff and patients preferred
- Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
