About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Educate dialysis patients and their families about nutrition
- Travel between Mid Ohio Dialysis in Ontario, Galion, and Kenton clinics
- Review monthly lab work with patients
- Educate patients about dietary and medication changes to improve outcomes
- Complete nutrition assessments
- Attend patient rounds with nephrologists as needed
- Analyze lab-work results and educate patients and families on appropriate dietary choices
- Serve as a member of each patient's core care team
- Provide patient-centered care and build meaningful, long-term relationships
- Collaborate with and support the care team across multiple clinics
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Dietitian license required
- Must be a licensed Dietitian in the state you are applying
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or similar area required
- Newly licensed dietitians with less than 1 year of experience will be considered
- 1 year of clinic experience preferred
- Role requires a licensed RD within DaVita to provide monthly oversight support
- Ability to work flexible schedules, possibly for multiple facilities, and travel when needed
- Comfortable with a large caseload of approximately 100–125 patients across different locations
- Successful completion of the Competency Assessment for Renal Dietitians (CARD) with a score of at least 80% required after hire and training
- Intermediate computer skills
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Functional proficiency with DaVita-specific applications within 60 days
- Full-time availability, 40 hours per week
- Monday–Friday availability
