About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform revenue operations duties related to medical insurance collections, credits, or setting patient insurance coverage
- Process patient insurance information through intake
- Collect payments on outstanding patient balances
- Resolve credits for payer overpayments and issue refunds
- Communicate with insurance payers to ensure proper patient coverage and timely, accurate reimbursement for dialysis services
- Respond timely and accurately to payer communications
- Collaborate with revenue operations teams to ensure seamless processes
- Partner with insurance counselors, social workers, and facility administrators
- Identify process changes and continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain current patient account information
- Protect confidential company and patient information
- Attend team meetings, phone conferences, and training as needed
- Follow teammate guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- No previous healthcare experience is required
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and demonstrate resiliency
- Drive and initiative to work through an assigned queue/book of business
- Understanding and embracing DaVita culture
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and DaVita policies
- May be required to work overtime as needed
