About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as regional development executive for a $750 million operating group
  • Lead initiatives driving long-term growth as part of the division senior leadership team
  • Source, develop, and negotiate complex renal partnerships
  • Manage transactions including Medical Director Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements, Hospital Services Agreements, and Value-Based Care Agreements
  • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities and threats
  • Develop plans supporting revenue, EBITDA, capital, presence, and other company objectives
  • Build regional value-based care partnership structures with nephrology practices, ACOs, and Academic Medical Centers
  • Implement value-based care agreements with government and commercial payors
  • Build local relationships and assess payor integrated-care readiness
  • Lead cross-functional virtual teams across Operations, Strategy, Finance, M&A, Legal, Hospital Services, Payor Contracts, and VBC
  • Develop and manage executive relationships with local providers
  • Meet with nephrologists regarding clinical leadership, outpatient dialysis centers, renal joint ventures, acquisitions, and value-based care
  • Meet with hospital executives regarding inpatient dialysis outsourcing, renal joint ventures, acquisitions, and value-based care
  • Meet with executives at IPAs, Medical Groups, MSOs, ACOs, and other risk-taking entities
  • Manage key deliverables and prepare and deliver executive presentations
  • Update Salesforce and internal reporting tools
  • Provide timely status updates on accounts, opportunities, and growth initiatives
  • Spend more than 40% of time externally with partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA, MPH, or relevant graduate degree preferred
  • Significant work experience in the healthcare industry with a management consulting firm, payor, or provider
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare industry dynamics, including cost, quality, reimbursement, physician practice management, and risk-sharing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), and Value-Based Care (VBC) preferred
  • 5+ years of transaction experience in Corporate Development, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, or other partnerships
  • Experience leading teams through planning, analysis, proposal development, negotiation, execution, and integration of transactions
  • Experience analyzing markets, partners, and competitors to develop 3–5 year growth strategies and plans
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate with Operations and Strategy to prioritize high-value opportunities
  • Ability to build trusted-advisor relationships with nephrologists, medical groups, health systems/hospitals, ACOs, and health plans
  • Ability to structure and manage complex projects and processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven success managing projects with multiple work streams across varied business opportunities
  • Strong leadership skills and team-oriented, collaborative approach
  • Ability to analyze income statements and cash flows for growth-related executive decisions
  • Excellent negotiation skills with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate with senior leaders and business partners
  • High level of daily communication with peers and junior teammates
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel, Power, Salesforce, and other tools
  • Must be located within the IL and WI geography
  • Travel required up to 50%
