About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee the DaVita Way of Procurement process for large global categories, typically exceeding $25M and up to $250M in spend
- Develop category strategies from strategy development through execution
- Set goals and manage supplier relationships
- Collaborate with field and regional counterparts on strategy implementation
- Develop market knowledge and understand assigned spend areas
- Analyze problems, determine root causes, develop solutions, and craft concise messages
- Collaborate with clinical and technical business partners to understand demand and supplier trends
- Build relationships, influence stakeholders, and build consensus
- Manage supplier performance KPIs, capability development, cost improvements, and quality improvements
- Identify supplier risks and develop mitigation strategies and plans
- Monitor compliance with product formularies and contract terms
- Lead and execute RFPs and competitive bidding processes
- Conduct regular negotiations with VP- and Director-level supplier contacts
- Drive savings, innovation, quality, service, and favorable commercial outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5-7 years of relevant SC/Procurement experience, or an MBA with background in contract analysis and negotiation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Experience leading and executing RFPs and competitive bidding processes
- Excellent computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to operate Tableau; dashboard-building experience valued
- Ability to travel up to 15%
- Fluent written and verbal skills necessary to perform the role
- Ability to lift 5 to 50 lbs unassisted and stand, sit, stoop, walk, stretch, reach, and use full range of body motions
- Manual dexterity and ability to use computer keyboard and peripherals
