About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement DAYONE's European tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and expansion plans
  • Advise on tax implications of acquisitions, investments, financing structures, and business expansion activities across Europe
  • Design and maintain tax-efficient corporate and investment structures across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinate tax activities across European countries and manage relationships with external tax advisors and service providers
  • Communicate business requirements and strategic objectives to local-country tax firms and advisors
  • Oversee regional tax compliance activities and filing obligations through external providers
  • Lead and coordinate transfer pricing governance and documentation under OECD guidelines and local regulations
  • Monitor tax legislation and regulatory developments across Europe and provide practical recommendations
  • Conduct technical research on international tax regimes, tax treaties, withholding taxes, and cross-border activities
  • Support tax provisions, tax reporting, and effective tax rate management in financial reporting
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks while pursuing tax optimization and efficiency opportunities
  • Manage tax audits, tax authority engagements, and related inquiries across multiple jurisdictions
  • Build relationships with external tax specialists and advisory firms
  • Improve tax policies, controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes
  • Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects
  • Initially report to Finance leadership and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development, senior leaders, and external tax providers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Tax, Fiscal Law or a related discipline
  • Recognized tax qualification and strong tax technical background (RB, NOB membership, or equivalent international qualification)
  • Dutch tax qualification, tax law background, or equivalent professional standing enabling representation and advisory work on Dutch tax matters
  • Strong working knowledge of direct and indirect tax (VAT), transfer pricing, and international tax developments (e.g. Pillar Two, DAC6)
  • Dutch fiscal residency
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in international, regional, or cross-border tax roles
  • Previous experience within a Big Four firm
  • Proven experience developing and executing international tax strategies
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing tax matters across multiple European countries
  • Strong expertise in corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax compliance
  • Experience supporting large-scale investments, complex business structures, or significant cross-border transactions
  • Strong understanding of international tax principles, tax treaties, and European tax frameworks
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business leaders
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
