About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and implement secure, multi-tenant infrastructure isolating customer data while enabling efficient AI model serving
  • Build security golden paths, including service templates, libraries, Terraform policies, and automation
  • Own infrastructure-as-code and GitOps best practices, including reusable modules and policy-as-code
  • Expand and help operate alerting, detection, secrets management, IAM, and automated remediation platforms
  • Integrate security platforms into CI/CD and developer workflows
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, and product engineering teams to translate SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR requirements into automated technical controls
  • Participate in security on-call
  • Improve operability, runbooks, and incident learnings
  • Shape the technical direction of Decagon's infrastructure security program
  • Invest in automation, observability, and self-service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years building and operating production infrastructure
  • Meaningful exposure to security or a strong interest in moving deeper into security problems
  • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS, including compute, networking, IAM, and security services
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Track record of building developer-facing tooling and automation
  • Strong coding ability in at least one systems language, such as Python, Go, or TypeScript
  • Experience applying AI-assisted tooling such as Cursor or Claude Code
  • Experience with secure container deployment, service mesh, and Kubernetes security best practices
  • Observability and incident-response tooling experience
  • Clear written communication and ability to turn ambiguous requirements into simple, reliable designs
  • Experience as an early or founding platform, infrastructure, or security engineer is advantageous
  • Experience building internal platforms is advantageous
  • Security-minded approach to software supply chain and familiarity with static analysis tools such as Semgrep or CodeQL
  • Experience with detection and response data pipelines such as Kafka, Pulsar, Splunk, Panther, or RunReveal
  • Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR from an infrastructure and platform perspective
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • College or university attendance information required in application form
