About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop the inference engine and other core components of the model stack in Rust
  • Take projects from initial architectural decisions through production deployment
  • Design how components and services communicate and assign system responsibilities
  • Build async Rust systems for concurrent workloads and low-latency streaming audio
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve latency, throughput, and resource usage
  • Build testable, debuggable, and reliable production software
  • Improve tooling, documentation, and development practices
  • Take ownership of Rust projects and help determine the overall system architecture

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong hands-on experience with Rust, including ownership, borrowing, composition, and idiomatic Rust design patterns
  • Solid experience with async Rust, including concurrent applications, synchronization, cancellation, and backpressure
  • Experience building and working with microservice architectures
  • Startup mindset and comfort navigating an early-stage codebase
  • Drive to shape products, architect solutions, and take complete project ownership
  • Knowledge of actor systems and experience using actors to structure concurrent applications
  • Experience with real-time systems in embedded environments or the cloud
  • Experience with C/C++ interoperability, including generating Rust bindings with bindgen
  • Experience with CUDA or GPU computing
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Python knowledge
  • Experience with lower-level performance engineering, including debugging memory leaks or understanding performance at the machine instruction level
  • German spoken and written is a nice-to-have

Benefits
