About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the growth strategy, financial performance, and long-term resilience of the healthcare industry
- Contribute to firmwide strategic planning and position healthcare for long-term growth, expanded market presence, and greater national impact
- Provide leadership and performance oversight for Principals and senior studio leaders
- Build and strengthen executive-level client and partner relationships
- Advance strategic pursuits, long-term partnerships, and Dekker's reputation within the healthcare industry
- Align healthcare industry strategy with operational execution to support strong project outcomes and sustainable growth
- Use key performance indicators and market insights to guide decision-making and measure industry health
- Develop future industry leaders through mentorship, succession planning, and talent development
- Act as a firmwide leader and culture carrier, strengthening collaboration, accountability, and shared success
- Communicate industry trends, strategic priorities, and measures of success across the firm
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in design
- Significant leadership experience within healthcare planning, design, and delivery
- Proven success leading healthcare practices, studios, business units, or market sectors with responsibility for growth, profitability, and strategic direction
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business development strategies resulting in sustained revenue growth and expanded market presence
- Established network of healthcare industry clients, partners, consultants, and stakeholders
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, profitability, utilization, and key performance metrics
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence clients, executive stakeholders, and internal teams
- Proven ability to mentor and develop leaders, build high-performing teams, and support succession planning initiatives
- Deep understanding of healthcare industry trends, regulatory requirements, funding mechanisms, and emerging opportunities
- Industry-specific credentials such as EDAC and ACHA are preferred
