About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Report to the VP, Accounting & Financial Reporting
Prepare and own Jupiter Power’s consolidated financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, members’ equity, cash flow, and footnotes
Own portfolio-wide financial statement templates and checklist standards
Identify and help implement process improvements across the financial statement close
Own inter-entity mapping, intercompany transactions, and equity across the portfolio
Own the framework and execution for specialty technical accounting areas, including ASC 606, ASC 842, HLBV, intangibles, and inventory
Research technical accounting issues and monitor GAAP developments
Independently review tax equity, offtake, debt, and similar agreements
Draft technical accounting memos with proposed accounting positions
Escalate final memo conclusions and novel or precedent-setting treatments to the VP for sign-off
Support annual audit management, including PBC coordination, follow-up, and timeline adherence
Escalate open or unresolved technical accounting inquiries to the VP
Perform other ad hoc duties as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
CPA required
5–8 years of relevant accounting experience
Industry background in project-based accounting (construction, oil & gas; renewables/energy infrastructure preferred)
Prior industry experience required; not straight from public accounting
Demonstrated ability to independently propose an accounting position on a complex issue
Proficiency in Sage Intacct required
Familiarity with Ramp, Expensify, and Corpay or similar platforms preferred
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Track record of successful process improvement
Ability to make sound decisions independently
