About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Advise and support the organization’s units and decision-making bodies on initiatives and activities related to the legal affairs function
  • Analyze data, conduct studies, make recommendations and write reports
  • Interpret laws and regulations, issue legal opinions, and prepare and validate rules, standards, policies, procedures, forms and agreements
  • Diagnose issues, challenges and needs to determine target outcomes
  • Prepare recommendations, solutions and action plans
  • Represent the organization in court
  • Draft pleadings, prepare witnesses, deliver oral arguments and negotiate the best possible terms
  • Serve as a resource person for the unit, clients and partners
  • Advise and assist clients and partners as part of intervention and development initiatives
  • Recommend solutions to improve or optimize standards, policies and programs
  • Coordinate with stakeholders working in other fields
  • Help protect the organization’s legal interests, rights and obligations and ensure compliance with laws

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Business insight
  • Interpersonal Savvy
