About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as an intermediary between business and technology teams to gather, analyze and document business and functional needs
  • Analyze business processes and recommend solutions to improve operational efficiency and business value
  • Translate business needs into user stories, business rules, functional specifications and other implementation deliverables
  • Prepare impact analyses, process diagrams and functional documentation
  • Collaborate with developers, quality specialists, architects and business partners throughout the delivery cycle
  • Analyze, design, plan and implement Guidewire solutions
  • Define test cases and support functional validation and user acceptance activities
  • Follow up on incidents, change requests and functional issues
  • Help resolve production issues and provide user support
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuously improve delivery processes, practices and methods
  • Serve as a systems specialist for the unit, clients and practitioners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, IT, information systems or a related field
  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in business analysis or functional analysis
  • Three years of experience as a business systems analyst (BSA)
  • Three years of experience with the Guidewire platform
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Property and casualty insurance experience
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and documenting business and functional requirements
  • Experience drafting user stories, functional specifications, business rules and impact analyses
  • Experience delivering projects in Agile mode
  • Experience preparing and executing functional and user acceptance tests
  • Guidewire Certified Ace certification
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency in English
  • Advanced knowledge of application integration concepts and REST/SOAP, XML and JSON technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes in property and casualty insurance
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Visio and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of underwriting, billing and claims processes in the property and casualty insurance industry
