About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution, and monitoring of strategic property and casualty insurance projects and initiatives
- Develop and update policies, standards, models, and programs supporting strategic projects and initiatives
- Identify, analyze, and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Represent the unit before internal decision-making bodies
- Manage multiple concurrent mandates ranging from a few days to several months
- Conduct detailed coverage analyses for specific claim files and evaluate policy provisions
- Act as a key liaison between business units, facilitating discussions and resolving technical coverage-related questions
- Review and analyze commercial insurance policy wordings, including endorsements, revisions, and coverage changes
- Assess the impact of policy wording changes on claims outcomes, coverage implications, risks, and unintended consequences
- Provide expert guidance on whether proposed policy language aligns with coverage intent and risk appetite
- Support the development, refinement, and interpretation of commercial insurance products
- Contribute to policy wording reviews for clarity, consistency, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with SMEs across Claims, Underwriting, Sales, and Commercial Insurance teams
- Partner with regional stakeholders across Quebec and Ontario
- Present findings, recommendations, and coverage analyses to leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Proficiency of French, both oral and written
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Advanced knowledge of both property and commercial claims handling is required
