About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage, motivate and develop a team of professionals and administrative support staff responsible for handling contested and complex claims nationwide
- Take responsibility for team performance, results and skills development
- Help organize work and plan operational activities for the unit
- Coach and guide team members in making strategic decisions on highly complex claims
- Work closely with life and health insurance claims teams to ensure claims are managed efficiently and consistently
- Develop, implement and monitor the unit’s action plan
- Define and enhance the unit’s services to maximize business results and client satisfaction
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement innovative solutions promoting operational efficiency and continuous improvement
- Implement management practices supporting engagement, talent development, diversity, employee attraction and retention, and change management
- Ensure sound management of individual and team performance and effective reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including two years in a management role
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in managing teams
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written
- Knowledge of the legal field and the life and health insurance sector
