About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop and maintain data models and structures in Data Studio to meet business and analytical needs
- Develop and optimize data integration, transformation and loading (ETL/ELT) processes
- Improve the performance and scalability of data models, processes, and queries
- Ensure the quality, integrity, consistency, traceability and reliability of organizational data
- Support the administration, adoption and continuous improvement of the Guidewire Data Studio platform
- Translate business needs into effective, scalable and reusable data solutions
- Provide users with reliable, well-documented and easy-to-use datasets
- Advise interested parties on best practices for data modelling, architecture and valorization
- Serve as an expert advisor and mentor to enhance the team’s practices in data modelling, quality and mining
- Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at modernizing data platforms and information systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data model design or data engineering
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in data modelling and information architecture design
- Demonstrated experience in an advisory role with business teams and data users
- Experience with Guidewire Data Studio and Guidewire Explore, or a strong interest in developing expertise in these platforms
- Experience with SAS and/or Python as part of data integration, transformation or quality initiatives
- Experience with modern data warehouses, cloud data platforms or enterprise data management environments
- Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Proficiency in SQL
- Proficiency in data modelling methodologies and designing analytical data structures
- Knowledge of the principles of data governance, quality and security
