About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications to understand system behavior and acceptance criteria
  • Design, document, and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test plans
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and user acceptance testing
  • Identify, document, track, prioritize, and verify software defects through resolution using Jira or similar tools
  • Collaborate with developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to reproduce and resolve issues and clarify requirements
  • Execute database and data validation testing using SQL queries where applicable
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives
  • Maintain testing documentation, defect logs, and quality metrics
  • Validate application functionality, data accuracy, and system integrations
  • Support release testing, release validation, and post-deployment or production verification activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • US Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain the required government security clearance (CBP Public Trust Final)
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing
  • Experience testing web-based applications and enterprise software solutions
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
  • Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and test plans
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar defect management tools
  • Ability to analyze requirements and identify testing gaps and risks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
  • Preferred: Experience with SQL and database validation testing
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data integration
  • Preferred: Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams
  • Preferred: Experience supporting cloud-based applications and services
