Key responsibilities & impact

Work with users to turn ambiguous problems into the smallest useful solution and define success measures
Lead complex product initiatives from discovery through launch, defining technical approaches and milestones while building critical components
Ship backend services, user interfaces, data models, integrations, and workflow infrastructure
Make architectural decisions across systems and explain trade-offs
Build testing, observability, safe rollouts, and AI fallbacks into products
Iterate using production evidence and user feedback
Own the technical direction and customer outcomes of major product areas
Solve technical problems spanning products and build shared services
Shape the roadmap using customer evidence and operational data
Build AI-native tools and engineering processes for planning, implementation, review, testing, and production
Learn benefit verification, prior authorization, medication-access workflows, and healthcare data and reliability constraints

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of software engineering experience
Ability to build, debug, and operate software across backend services, data, and user interfaces
Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly
Ability to define clear system boundaries and weigh delivery speed, reliability, and long-term maintainability
Product sense and ability to work directly with users to identify problems and define success
Experience using coding agents to increase productivity
Experience leading complex projects hands-on
Ability to align collaborators and stakeholders around clear decisions
Experience mentoring engineers
Bonus: experience building AI-powered or automation-heavy products in production
Bonus: experience with healthcare, clinical workflows, EHRs, payers, pharmacies, or another regulated domain
Bonus: early-stage startup experience or evidence of thriving with high ownership and limited structure
Bonus: experience building workflow products, data-heavy interfaces, or third-party integrations
