About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support new student enrollment by partnering with Admissions and answering student queries
- Provide information on programs, costs, and funding options
- Develop and validate estimated financial plans and establish applicant timelines
- Advise on academic and Title IV financial aid programs, policies, procedures, and regulations
- Monitor student accounts and guide students on financial eligibility
- Evaluate academic and financial awards to promote positive student outcomes
- Identify academic and financial obstacles by analyzing student data
- Collaborate with students and departments to overcome obstacles and support student success
- Track enrollment, persistence, and graduation information using data and systems
- Recommend resources such as self-service tools, new student orientation, and online student community participation
- Document and preserve all student interactions in the designated institutional system
- Evaluate complex academic and financial situations using discretion and independent judgment
- Communicate with students through incoming and outgoing calls, chats, personalized emails, and SMS
- Meet and exceed service-level metrics in a fast-paced call-center environment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Some college coursework required
- Minimum of 1 year of exceptional customer service or prior advising experience in an education setting
- Eligible to access and maintain the NSLDS system
- Must not be in default of Title IV Federal aid
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), internet applications, and database software systems
- Work environment free of distractions and interruptions, with no conflicting responsibilities during scheduled shifts
- Home office equipped with hardwired DSL or cable Internet via Ethernet with minimum required internet speeds
- Wireless, satellite, or dial-up internet services are not permissible
- Successful completion of all training-program assessments with a passing score
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and rotating Saturdays
- Tech-savvy, with ability to navigate multiple systems
- Ability to comply with organizational, state, federal, and accrediting-body policies and procedures
