About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and own clean, trusted core data models
- Work inside the product and engineering codebase to ensure data is captured and structured correctly at source
- Build and maintain reliable pipelines connecting business systems
- Make the data platform self-serve for product, growth, commercial and operations teams and agents
- Structure data for agents to perform analytical work accurately and at scale
- Partner with the team on metrics covering acquisition, activation, matching quality and commercial performance
- Turn ambiguous business questions into appropriate data models, metrics and clear answers
- Set standards for data quality, definitions and instrumentation across Dex
- Participate in interviews, practical task and onsite interview loop as part of the hiring process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience building the data foundation for a consumer product or marketplace
- Engineering and analytical capability: model and pipe data, and interpret business insights
- Comfortable reading existing code and navigating an unfamiliar codebase
- Fluent across a modern analytics stack, including a cloud warehouse, transformation layer, orchestration and BI
- Commercially and product minded
- Platform-oriented approach to building reusable data foundations
- Intelligent, ambitious, with strong judgement
- Good person who is fun to work with and makes things happen without being asked
