About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the integrated program plan across Data Hub platform, inbound, Workday bi-directional, outbound, data quality, and operations workstreams
- Drive workstream leads to resource-loaded plans with milestones, entry and exit criteria, and named owners
- Maintain the critical path and flag schedule impacts
- Run workstream stand-ups, program calls, dependency reviews, steering committees, and executive updates
- Manage scope and change control, assessing cost, schedule, and cross-workstream impact
- Lead multi-company delivery teams toward one plan, milestones, and definition of done without direct reporting authority
- Establish common standards for estimation, planning, status reporting, and defect management
- Manage organizational handoffs, partner and vendor commitments, SOWs, and service expectations
- Onboard incoming teams into program standards, tooling, environments, and access
- Publish workstream and overall program status with RAG ratings and measurable reporting
- Build and maintain a single source of truth for program status, decisions, and artifacts
- Tailor communications and escalate early with recommendations
- Maintain cross-team dependency and risk registers and drive mitigation to completion
- Triage, assign, track, and escalate issues and blockers
- Anticipate conflicts involving freeze periods, financial close windows, shared environments, and release trains
- Drive decisions to closure and document rationale
- Manage budget, forecast, actuals, variance, vendor invoicing, and SOW milestones
- Manage resourcing and onboarding across workstreams and parties, including offshore teams
- Ensure adherence to SDLC, change management, security, and audit controls in a regulated insurance environment
- Coordinate release, cutover, hypercare, rollback, and contingency planning for interfaces going live
- Own end-to-end delivery of an enterprise Data Hub supporting Finance and future Actuarial, Investment, Reinsurance, and Risk domains
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years in IT delivery, including 5+ years as a Program Manager or senior Project Manager accountable for multi workstream programs and their overall status
- Demonstrated experience delivering data platform, data warehouse, data lake, or large scale integration programs
- Working knowledge of modern cloud data architecture, including ingestion patterns, batch and near real time pipelines, lake zones, data quality gates, and API or file based integration
- Proven track record managing a large interface or integration portfolio through build, test, and production cutover
- Rigorous discipline with program plans, dependency registers, RAID logs, and status reporting
- Strong executive presence and ability to present status and bad news to senior stakeholders
- Proven success running a multi party program and leading through influence rather than reporting lines
- Hands-on experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project or Smartsheet, and Confluence or equivalent
- Experience in both Agile and hybrid or stage gated delivery models
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule from Cary, NC
- Must hold work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future
- Preferred: Insurance or financial services experience
- Preferred: Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen 2, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, or Snowflake
- Preferred: ERP modernization or Workday program experience, including EIB, Core Connectors, and Prism
- Preferred: Experience supporting multiple business domains in sequence
- Preferred: PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or Scrum certification
- Preferred: Experience managing distributed onshore and offshore teams across vendors and time zones
