About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide responsive, practical people-related advice to people managers
  • Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies
  • Lead day-to-day employee matters and build manager capability to prevent and resolve issues
  • Manage informal and formal individual employee cases up to defined complexity
  • Ensure case consistency, documentation, and appropriate escalation or consultation with specialist Employee Relations resources
  • Support HR Business Partners with local execution of business change requirements
  • Implement global tools and programmes with appropriate local nuances
  • Advise managers on sick absence management, performance improvement plans, and standard redundancy or exit processes
  • Advise on non-standard or complex policy application queries
  • Identify case trends and provide local insights for process improvements
  • Support delivery of people manager capability-building and guidance
  • Support the HR transformation and change management process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience providing practical HR advice and building strong business partnerships
  • Experience sensitively leading employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, and absence, through to resolution
  • Solid track record applying HR policies consistently and fairly
  • Sound judgement on policy nuances
  • Experience building people manager capability to handle people-related matters effectively
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver responsive, high-quality day-to-day HR support
  • Solid understanding of HR policies and processes
  • Clear and confident communication
  • Practical, solutions-focused advisory and coaching skills
  • Sound judgement, risk awareness, and execution discipline
  • Ability to travel, as the role covers a large part of IOI
