About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Install, terminate, splice, test, maintain, and troubleshoot inside and outside plant fiber optic infrastructure
  • Perform fiber optic testing using OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and other industry-standard equipment
  • Install, terminate, certify, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 structured cabling systems
  • Analyze and resolve fiber optic network performance issues
  • Install, configure, provision, and support telecommunications and network infrastructure equipment
  • Support Layer 1 and Layer 2 network connectivity and IP-based communications infrastructure
  • Perform underground cable locating, cable replacement, and preventative maintenance
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, fiber routing documentation, splice diagrams, and network schematics
  • Coordinate construction activities with contractors, utilities, customers, and service providers
  • Manage telecommunications infrastructure project scheduling, coordination, resources, procurement, logistics, contractors, documentation, reporting, permits, badges, site access, equipment inventory, and infrastructure tracking
  • Assist with installation, configuration, deployment, and support of managed WiFi solutions
  • Configure and troubleshoot wireless access points, controllers, network switches, and related infrastructure
  • Support wireless network optimization, coverage validation, and performance troubleshooting
  • Assist with VLAN configuration, PoE deployments, switching, routing, and IP-based network connectivity
  • Support enterprise network infrastructure and customer connectivity solutions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree, technical school certification, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic infrastructure
  • Experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) and inside/outside plant construction
  • Experience deploying, configuring, or supporting managed WiFi solutions, wireless access points, controllers, and enterprise wireless networks
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switching, routing, VLANs, and PoE
  • Basic understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and IP-based communications
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Experience with enterprise wireless access points, wireless controllers, and cloud-managed networking platforms
  • Working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP networking
  • Ability to climb ladders (over 6 feet) and work at various heights
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required (approximately 50-75%); spending 3-5 days per week in the parks
  • Ability to obtain required certifications post-hire as required for the role
  • Ability to pass and maintain compliance with federal background check and drug-free workplace requirements
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency outages within 4 hours when required
  • Work performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Exposure to construction sites, telecom facilities, rooftops, and confined spaces
