About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, calibrate, and repair biomedical and dental equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using industry-standard test equipment
- Document repairs and maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Communicate professionally with healthcare customers and clinical staff
- Follow manufacturer procedures and industry safety standards
- Support senior technicians during equipment installations, repairs, and service projects
- Complete structured on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and mentorship through the AAMI Registered Apprenticeship Program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree (completed or in progress) in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field; or military technical training; or technical school education; or equivalent mechanical or electrical experience
- Previous biomedical equipment experience is not required
- Experience working on electronics, industrial equipment, automotive systems, military equipment, dental equipment, or other electromechanical devices is encouraged
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
