About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design innovative packaging for new products and optimize existing packaging to maximize logistics efficiency
  • Create detailed packaging procedures for new products
  • Modify and improve mechanical components to resolve quality issues, enhance performance, or reduce costs
  • Develop and refine sheet metal enclosures, plastic components, and structural elements for electronic hardware
  • Work directly with global suppliers to transition products from design into high-volume production
  • Support packaging design for new product introductions and continuous product improvement
  • Work on electronic products including networking gear, cellular systems, system-on-chip, and single-board computers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience using SolidWorks
  • Experience in sheet metal design
  • Experience in plastic component design
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization in the United States at the time of application
  • Visa sponsorship is not provided
  • Preferred: 5+ years of SolidWorks modeling and drafting experience
  • Preferred: Experience designing packaging optimized for global shipping
  • Preferred: Familiarity with ISTA testing and packaging standards
  • Preferred: Experience designing sheet metal, plastic injection molding, and cast aluminum enclosures
  • Preferred: Experience managing mechanical interfaces for PCBs or networking hardware
  • Preferred: Experience collaborating with international vendors and manufacturing suppliers
  • Nice to have: Experience with QuickPalletMaker or StackBuilder
  • Knowledge of ArtiosCAD, EngView, or similar software is helpful but not required
