About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build web frontends, backend services, and APIs in TypeScript across a variety of projects
Contribute to design and technical decisions from rapid prototypes to production platforms
Write tested, documented, and secure code
Review colleagues’ work
Deploy and run software using CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes on Azure
Work alongside a Lead Software Engineer in Belfast
Collaborate with designers, researchers, product owners, and client stakeholders
Translate requirements into working software
Develop skills using generative AI tooling and emerging technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Professional software development experience in TypeScript/JavaScript across frontend and backend
Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React
Experience building backend services and APIs backed by databases
Experience with Agile delivery, source control, code review, and automated testing
Some exposure to CI/CD and containers such as Docker
Kubernetes or Azure experience is a bonus
Clear communication and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues
Interest in generative AI tooling and emerging technologies such as digital twins
Successful completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance before starting employment
