About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead requirements gathering and discovery workshops and solution definition activities with customers and stakeholders
Design scalable, secure and maintainable digital solutions, platforms and services
Produce architecture artefacts including solution designs, requirements specifications, integration approaches and technical documentation
Define and communicate non-functional requirements covering security, performance, resilience and compliance
Work with engineers, product owners, designers and technology specialists to support successful solution delivery
Contribute to architecture reviews, technology selection, governance activities and continuous improvement of Digital Catapult's solution architecture capability
Work across deep tech programmes and commercial engagements involving Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Quantum Computing, Advanced Connectivity and emerging digital technologies
Help organisations adopt and realise value from frontier technologies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience designing and delivering software, cloud, platform, data or technology-enabled solutions
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical audiences
Experience translating business requirements into practical technical solutions and architecture documentation
Knowledge of modern software delivery practices, including cloud technologies, DevOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
Understanding of solution architecture principles, systems integration and non-functional requirements
Curiosity about emerging technologies and enthusiasm for applying them to real-world business and societal challenges
Successful completion of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance prior to starting employment
