About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own Digital Science's B2C payments ecosystem end-to-end, particularly Stripe, alongside Recurly and PayPal
- Act as internal product owner and primary point of contact for Stripe
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for payment platform configuration, integrations, and change management
- Monitor and improve checkout authorisation rates and overall payment conversion
- Lead rollout of alternative payment methods such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, UPI, and Pix
- Own retry and dunning logic for failed payments and support foreign exchange strategy for cross-border payment flows
- Manage disputes and chargebacks and configure and monitor fraud tooling such as Stripe Radar and 3D Secure
- Own PCI-DSS compliance for payment processing and resolve causes of conversion drop-off
- Manage commercial relationships, contracts, and pricing discussions with Stripe and other payment vendors
- Build cost-benefit analyses for payment infrastructure decisions
- Partner with Revenue Operations, Product, and B2C Commercial teams
- Provide payment analytics and reporting to Finance Business Partnering and B2C leadership
- Own phased extension of payment platform responsibilities across Recurly, PayPal, and adjacent B2B payment areas
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Improve checkout authorisation and payment conversion against baseline, contributing to a targeted 1%+ uplift in B2C payment volume
- Roll out alternative payment methods to plan and track adoption and conversion
- Maintain disputes, chargebacks, fraud, and PCI-DSS compliance within agreed standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–5+ years of experience in payment operations, e-commerce, or fintech
- Deep working expertise with Stripe, including Billing, Radar, and Sigma (or equivalent payment platform tooling)
- Working proficiency in SQL and BI/analytics tools
- Technical fluency and operational rigor; comfortable working with engineering and product teams on payment integrations
- Strong communication skills to translate payment performance into commercial and financial narratives
- Working knowledge of PCI-DSS and payment compliance requirements (desirable)
- Comfort with payment gateways, APIs, and fraud tooling
- Risk awareness balancing conversion optimisation with fraud, dispute, and compliance risk
- Ability to work with Product, Commercial, and Finance stakeholders without formal authority
- Curiosity about AI and openness to experiment and adapt
- Must reside in the UK
- Must be based in or close to London to attend the office around twice a month
